Chúc Mừng Năm Mới!
Not only is today the Chinese New Year, but also, Vietnamese New Year! Traditionally, it is common to don red to symbolize the fortune and luck that will be bestowed upon you for the new year. However, let's be real here: My wardrobe isn't exactly flourishing with red-hued masterpieces (perhaps maroon would suffice?) Actually, I'd rather settle for a Balenciaga city bag in Coquelicot Red, but that's another story.
A venture through the depths of my closet for an appropiate New Year's ensemble may have proved futile, but fate gloriously intervened and instead introduced a (somewhat) stunt double: Blush pink. I mean, this delicate, candy-coated color is still a variation of red, right? Well, it is a hybrid hue between red and white. And not to mention, after Grace Stars generously offered to send me this gem for review, I knew it was somehow destined for display on New Year day.
How to summarize my first lookbook post of 2013? Parisian, preppy glamour. The blush pink blouse, fringed by a gold sequined collar and draped in velvety chiffon, is a perfect top that is verstaile enough to be adorned both during daylight and dusk. I paired it with my most cherished pair of Colin Stuart brandywine riding boots for a polished essence. As for accessories, I opted for a cream, knitted beret from Urban Outfitters to perch atop my tresses and my black Tory Burch Reva clutch bag (its rose-gold hardware compliments the blush pink accordingly). Hopefully, wearing pink can still bequeath me a little luck this year!
