valentino meets shakespeare

"The lunatic, the lover, and the poet, are of imagination all compact." - William Shakespeare

Happy Februrary, lovely readers!
As you know, this month crowns a monarchy of amorous passion and dreams.
The fourteenth of every February becomes the realm of lace, frills, frocks and champagne. One can daintily pose for slice of red velvet cake, donning forms of ruby-hued accoutrements, and simply muse of their (future) Prince Charming.

However, for me, Valentine's Day translates to Valentino and his courtly confidant, William Shakespeare. It is the Spring/Summer 2012 Ad Campaign, cultivated and brewed by the aesthetically-talented connoisseurs at Valentino, that leaves a lasting impression.
Who isn't enthralled by the antique, royal tones of these photos? The overall story, mood and paraphernalia seems like merely an offspring of Shakespeare's penned works.

Of course, this only makes me excited for a slew of spring/summer trends that are already erupting, thanks to the buffet of models on the runways. Ornate prints, embroided laces, mocha palettes, subtle studding...?
Count me in!

What are you excited for spring/summer?

This is such a beautifully written post, Kelsey! I adore your interesting take on Valentine's Day. I for one, am NOT a fan of Valentine's day. I think love should be celebrated every day, and I feel so strongly against it that I'm thinking I might even blog about it :) Valentino is amazing, and I love love love those pictures! Wonderful as always, I loved reading this :) There's a new post up on my blog, so feel free to stop by!

Hi Kelsey,

I usually get bored by blogs that publish editorial content, but you have exceptionally great taste. In fact, Valentino campaign is one of my favorites. I remember the first time I saw it (while flipping through Vogue out of sheer boredom), I immediately fell in love. Jessica Stam did something with Fendi once. Can't remember the exact season, but I think you'll love that too.

Following you on Bloglovin'. Keep up the great content, fantastic taste, and crisp layout!

Michelle
